You pushed me this far, now I’m pushing you the rest of the way. You know, back in the woods, even when things looked really bad, I always thought we’d make it because I thought you were too stubborn to quit. Well, you’re not going to quit, not now, not when we’re this close.

Guys, let me tell you about orcas.
Orca whales are mean motherfuckers. They cruise the oceans with only two things in mind: one, having sex, and two, eating every poor fuck they find out there that’s smaller than them. They are such badass motherfuckers that even great white motherfucking sharks don’t dare fuck with them, which in my books, places them above the sperm whale as Biggest Badass of the Ocean. And why don’t sharks bother them, you may wonder? Because orcas fucking learned that if you flip a shark over they go into a sort of coma, so now they do it intentionally so they can eat the motherfucking sharks. Not only that, but orcas have also learned how to hunt sperm whales and motherfucking sea birds.
The orca whale lives in a matriarchal pod. Every pod has unique hunting methods and whatnot, which is passed down from parent to offspring- these scary fuckers have formed civilizations. And what do they do for fun, apart from hopping around on the water’s surface and grinning like crazy mofos? They hunt for fun, going so far as to tip over ice floes and beach themselves just for the thrill of killing.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. Orca whales are too damn cute and smiley looking to be heartless predators of the sea. Well, let me counter-argue with this photo:
THOSE ARE NOT THE TEETH OF A CREATURE THAT WANTS TO BE YOUR FRIEND.

Hi, all you animal lovers! This is pretty simple… please reblog this post! The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily so they can meet their quota of getting FREE FOOD donated every day to abused and neglected animals in their shelters.
It takes less than a minute (only about 15 seconds actually) to go to their site and click on the purple box titled, ‘Click Here to Give - it’s FREE!’. From one click, it gives about .6 bowls of food to sheltered dogs. You can also click daily!
Keep in mind that this does not cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising. Here’s the web site! Please pass this along!

Elephants have been known to die of broken hearts if a mate dies. They refuse to eat and will lay down, shedding tears until they starve to death. They refuse all human help.
Scientists are beginning to believe that animals do have emotions and that their feelings may be more intense and unfiltered than our own. Emotion rises from the old brain, the limbic system, which birds and reptiles as well as dogs, humans, and other mammals share. Humans have additional brain structures and symbolic language to process our feelings and a complex array of psychological defense mechanisms that allay or soften the impact of our emotions. We repress, deny, subjugate, dissociate, and use all kinds of conscious and unconscious machinations to separate ourselves from our feelings, but animals have no such recourse, so their emotions are likely to be raw and strong. In fact, this may be one of the reasons we find them so attractive: they wear their hearts on their sleeves, so to speak.
People seem to deny the existence of animal emotions so that they can continue to justify inhumane treatment and exploitation and avoid the fact that our actions have a deep emotional impact on our fellow beings.

Spotty was found dockside with the last sailing of the Elizabeth, his tag on his coat said, “My name is Spotty. Two years old. Housebroken. Love to ride in trucks. Been with boys two years in combat. But just could not make the ship. Won’t you please give me a home.”
Luckily for him though, Spotty was picked up by two Red Cross girls who found his Company and promised the men they’d try to get him a home. Tied up on the ship with the girls, he journey was almost promised until his leash broke, he was found out and put off again. However, lady luck was once again on his side because the same two Red Cross girls found and picked him up again, and found he could go home if someone looked after him during travel. Permission was granted and the two Red Cross girls were set to sail on the Acquatania, only for the sailing to be cancelled.
In the end though Spotty made it back to New York City in November, 1945 after booking travel on the Queen Mary and was greeted at the dock by his former master, a US Army soldier. His little ike jacket I can’t :’)

Rejected monkey comforted by toys
Baby spider monkey Estela is without maternal love and guidance after her mother rejected her when she was born on January 17.
Keepers at Melbourne Zoo are monitoring the tiny primate around the clock, worried that she has not had the chance to develop normally after being emotionally traumatised.
A range of stuffed toys are being used to try and create some warmth and support for the two-month old while she comes to terms with how her mother shunned her.

Love in the Animal Kingdom: An Informative Valentine’s Day Spam
In the deep sea, finding a mate can be problematic — which is why certain species of anglerfish, like those of the Ceratioid group, have evolved an unusual mating method.
When scientists first started capturing ceratioid anglerfish, they noticed that all of the specimens were females. They also appeared to have misshapen, cylindrical “parasites” protruding haphazardly from their bodies at strange angles. These “parasites” turned out to be the remnants of male anglerfishes.
At birth, male ceratoids are already equipped with extremely well developed olfactory organs that detect scents in the water. Lacking even a proper digestive system, these glorified sperm live solely to find and mate with a female, and failure to do so would result in their deaths.
When the male finds a female, he bites into her skin, and releases an enzyme that digests the skin of his mouth and her body, fusing the pair down to the blood-vessel level. The male then slowly atrophies, first losing his digestive organs, then his brain, heart, and eyes, and ends as nothing more than a pair of gonads that release sperm when the female is ready to reproduce. A female may have several atrophied males attached to her body.

Here is a bizarre bit of news coming out of the pipeline explosion in Nanjing, China that killed 13 people and injured 300, and not it is not the news that 4 people were arrested - it is this remarkable photo of monkey grabbing a puppy dog and running away from the explosion and fire.via nowpublic

One of the world’s most elusive cats has been photographed by a night time camera trap, after a year-long search for the animal.
The ghostly image of the Saharan cheetah has excited conservationists, as perhaps fewer than 10 of the cats survive in the deserts of Termit, Niger, where the photograph was taken.
Almost nothing is known of the Saharan cheetah, except that it endures extremely high temperatures and appears to survive without a permanent source of water.
